Our First Day in San Francisco

For our first full day in SF, we visited the typical touristy places: Fisherman's Wharf, Boudin's, Alcatraz, and Ghiradelli's.

We <heart3 SF!

 Teeheeee... Double Rainbow

Squishing Alcatraz like it's no big deal.

Pier 39 and the fat, smelly seals.  :)

At Boudin's for their clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.  Yum!

Energized after our Boudin's breakfast -- it's what champs eat!

Too bad that cup cost too much... ;)
"San Francisco was so expen$ive I could only afford half a cup"

 Oh Andrew...
Being "Spoken 4" is a pretty good deal for you, mister! :D

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum with a Candy Gaga

Inside a really nice candy shop

Mmm frozen banana... now I understand how the Bluth Family (in Arrested Development) kept that frozen banana stand in business for so long.

 The Robotman

On our tour through Alcatraz
Those cells were tiny and depressing.

Locked. Up.

After Alcatraz, we went to In N Out for some Animal-style burgers

Followed by some delicious Ghirardelli treats at Ghirardelli Square

Inside the shop -- exactly what I imagine Willy Wonka's chocolate factory would smell like.

Ghirardelli's World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae.  So chocolatey... so good...

Some cute things seen around SF

On the way home... bye bye pigeon!

Bonus: Stinky Pier 39 seals in the morning

Tons of pictures... :)  Up next: San Francisco, Day 2 -- Lombard, Palace of Fine Arts, Exploratorium, and Japantown!

The San Francisco Treat

Last week Andrew and I went to San Francisco for spring break.  Per usual, I took a ton of pictures -- here are a few from our first day.

Full suitcase from Chicago = no space for souvenirs... :(
(... or so I thought)

Driving in the rain and bridesmaid dress shopping the next day

While the boys watched the Ohio State vs. Someone Else game at Starbucks (March Madness!)

Lunch time soon after

There are a bunch of vintage VW buggies like this one on the road in SF

Mmm.. froyo

And yummy sushi.. :)

First day in SF post coming up next! :)

Photoshoot Part Deux

Remember that photoshoot from way back in February?  (... oh yeah!)  Here are some other nice pics of the day.

This is Pei!

Spring Break pics to come -- and boy are there a ton of those!  More photoshoots to come too, as soon as this crazy winter weather finally leaves and we can take nice photos without our bulky jackets.

Spring is on the Way!

Can you smell it?  SPRING IS IN THE AIR!  :)  How exciting -- no more snow, no more ice, just warm sunny weather and flowers blooming all over the place.  Today was amazingly in the high 50s and low 60s (crazy warm for Urbana, right?) so we took a walk around town.

With temperatures in the 30s just last week, these crocus flowers were a welcome sight.

Buttercups!

Everything just seems happier and sparklier when spring arrives.

Interesting graffiti...

We walked into a store in Lincoln Square Mall with the coolest things...

Dream big, girls... dream big.

I love these little owl mugs.  I would have tea parties every day if they were mine.  :)

One day I'll have all of these hanging in my room...

...and these in my kitchen.  They're the cutest little 2-in-1 Japanese boy bowls -- both the hair and the head are bowls.

Almost like a leaf fossil... but not.

Apparently, a Quack graffiti artist haunts the mean streets of Urbana.

We visited the Urbana Public Library.  What a cool "The Tortoise and the Hare" statue.

I'm sure they're the Large Print versions

Spring break is almost here, I can't wait! :)
